A Storyteller Who Finally Opened the Box
Michael A. York’s love of storytelling began in childhood, fueled by a steady diet of movies and science fiction tales. But, like many, he set his imagination aside to “be serious” and chase the so-called right path. For years, the stories stayed locked away.
In 2019, shortly before his father passed, Michael was given advice that changed everything, “stop trying to be someone else, be yourself and follow your own vision”. He took it to heart. After writing his father’s eulogy, a family member urged him to keep writing.
So, Michael dusted off the box that held decades of untold ideas. The moment he opened it, the stories poured out with years of pent-up energy. Now, he’s not just telling tales, he’s capturing feelings, weaving them into vivid worlds where history, humanity, and the supernatural collide.
Michael lives in South Carolina with his wife, two dogs, and two cats. Black Feathers is his debut novel.
